Whitlock and Heaps have been established since 1948 and are a family run business headed by Peter Fisk, his son Jack and daughter Gemma Horne. Peter has been situated in our Hove offices for 45 years and as a firm we pride ourselves on our traditional estate agency values with a modern and proactive marketing approach. We offer prospective and current clients, in our opinion, an unrivalled service and local knowledge in both the residential sales and lettings market.
Our firm recently acquired Cales and Co estate agents who have been established for over thirty years and themselves are a well-respected independent firm. Cales and Whitlock and Heaps have had a close working relationship for a number of years through Peter and Steve Caiels’ friendship and mutual respect with the firms sharing Christmas Parties for over twenty years and in more recent years Jack married Steve’s daughter Nyree. When the opportunity arose for the two firms to combine it was a merger that was too perfect a fit to not complete.
We now have offices at both ends of New Church Road and between the two we are in a position to encompass a strong portion of the market yet retain the personable and direct approach we focus on having with our clients.
80% of our business is repeat or recommendation and this is built on a hands-on approach from the directors and team, offering years of experience and attention to detail for each and every individual client’s requirements.
We understand the importance of individuals homes and investments and believe they deserve to be marketed correctly and so we have specifically chosen our professional photographer because he has the same vision and understanding as we do. This enables us to market our clients’ properties to the best of our ability.
All our properties are marketed on the four main property portals; Rightmove, Zoopla, Onthemarket and Primelocation enabling us to offer national marketing yet retain the personable and hands on approach our family-owned firm is proud of.

Peter Fisk FNAEA and MARLA
I started working for Whitlock and Heaps in 1977 just after Peter Heaps had retired and 1 worked with Roy Whitlock until 1985 when he also decided to retire.
I then purchased the business and decided to retain the firms name as the Whitlock name and brand was synonymous to Poets Corner and surrounding areas. The firm specialised in property sales but after the death of a local solicitor in 1993 we were offered the opportunity to handle the management of his property portfolio. This department has grown tremendously and has developed our letting section into an integral part of our company.
Jack Fisk
Jack has 17 years of estate agency experience and has been a partner in Whitlock and Heaps for 10 years. Having previously worked for two large independent agencies he has a track record of successfully valuing, marketing, selling and letting properties from flats to country estates across the region with an expertise in Brighton, Hove and the surrounding villages. Jack prides himself on achieving the best sale prices possible for his clients and his professional values drive him to offer unrivaled customer service in the market by creating a bespoke end to end service for clients.
Gemma Horne
Gemma has been working in the property industry for her entire career with a wealth of experience covering sales and lettings in both the residential and commercial sectors. Prior to making the move to join her family’s estate agency Whitlock and Heaps she spent twenty years working for independent estate agencies across Sussex cultivating expertise in residential, commercial and estate management services. She quickly established herself as a valued member of the team and has continued to build a reputation for honesty, integrity and initiative. This combined with her sound advice, determination and reliability earns her numerous recommendations and repeat business.
Edward Reeves-Dienes
Edward has been an estate agent for three years now having
previously worked for a local independent firm. He is hardworking and dedicated to his role offering clients a personable and proactive service having already in the year he has worked for Whitlock and Heaps shown his ability to build client relationships. With an eagerness to learn and a desire to continue to build a wealth of knowledge he is valued member of the team.

I have worked as a Sales Administrator in the Estate Agency business for almost 30 years. I am responsible for telephone enquiries, arranging appointments, creating sales brochures and all paperwork before and after a sale has been agreed. I enjoy being part of a friendly, experienced, professional team in a family run business.
In my spare time I enjoy walking, cooking and socialising with family and friends.

I have worked in the Estate Agency business for over 40 years and in my present position I am a sales administrator dealing with telephone enquiries, customers who call into the office, emails and sales brochures. I have always enjoyed working for an independent family run business.
In my leisure time, I enjoy seeing bands, going to festivals, reading, walking and spending time with family and friends.

I enjoy working with my colleagues in an up-beat and modern environment where positive thinking and the personal approach is high on our priority along with providing an excellent service.
Working for a family run business is both rewarding and allows me the opportunity to be hands-on in all aspects of Letting.
Steve Caiels
I established Cales and Co estate agents in 1984 and for over 35 years have strived to offer a personable and honest estate agency with the majority of our business being repeat or recommendation. Throughout these years I have worked closely with my good friend Peter Fisk of Whitlock and Heaps and subsequently my youngest daughter Nyree married Jack Fisk so when the time came for me to take a step back a merge of these two well established independent estate agents made perfect sense.
